Hutch Frame

I like thick square timber, 45mm x 45mm. It is easy to work with, you have lots ot 'aim at' with your screws. Plus you can fit two screws in side by side. It is also thick enough to let your rabbits chew the edges off without it compromising the hutch itself. It can also take a lot of weight, I can stand on top of my hutches without a problem :)

My husband used 2 x 2 for a 6ft hutch we made for a conti but for a lighter rabbit you may get away with a 2 x 1 but i would still use 2 x 2 for the legs.

I was thinking of using 32x44mm for the frame and 32x32mm for the doors. But have yet to decide on which to use as 44x44mm sounds tempting.
