Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Panacur

Hi,

I am thinking about worming my four bunnies using panacur but three out of four of them can fidget a great deal so administering it will be difficult. I was wondering whether it would be possible to put the panacur on their pellets? If not what is the best approach to administer it.

Thanks

You might be lucky, i just get the panacur tube out and show my two it and they both go mad to get it. They really love it. I just put the syringe in their mouth and squirt it in, then they mob me for more!

But if not, then yes, it is fine to put on any food :) I sued to slit a mange tout or sugar snap pea and put it inside.

I have just wormed my two with Panacur. I would never be able to get the thing in their mouths so I squeeze the amount they need onto spring green leaf (or any other veg they will eat) and so they just eat it without realising its on there!

With our two we use two different methods:

Jimby will take it if we smoosch it inbetween two leaves (mint or basil)
Cookie will reluctantly take it if it is on a fenugreek crunchie.
