  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunnys with poorly bums...

What do you use for bedding. I use ecobed to date, but was wondering if there are any alternatives? Finacard comes to mind- anything else?

Ah okay that is going to work out cheaper than ecobed- I'm getting through a 20kg bale every few days and it's about £13 delivered.

What do you brush hay off with when putting in the washer or do you put it inside something else? I do use a vet bed for Cassie which works really well, but none of the buns at present.

Is vet uk cheapest place to buy at the moment? x

I just use a dustbrush to get the majority off and then throw it in the wash. But I think some people also put it in a tied up pillowcase before in the washing machine.

Thanks that makes sense. I don't want to break this washer as only just replaced:)

definitely vetbed with towels and newspaper underneath, changed once or twice a day.

I buy from ebay

before washing I just shake them in the garden and brush them down with a wet hand
