Neutering in Leeds area

Leximo

Young Bun
I'll be getting my little boy neutered in a few months time, and I want to make sure I get a rabbit savvy vet. So far I've found this one, Holly House, which has had some good reviews off people who have had their rabbits neutered there and it is a strong candidate.

However I want to keep my options open - I'm a bit anxious about this procedure so I want to get my bun the best care possible. Any recommendations from people living in the Leeds area? :)

I just opened the thread to recommend Holly House and then saw you'd already got them

I used to use them when I lived in Moortown, they were very good, and spayed my girl Poppy with no problems.

They were also good with Sorrel's dental problems.

Sarah Brown who works there is great with rabbits, very knowledgable and will take the time to explain things to you even to the extent of getting books out and drawing diagrams :)

I'm also looking for a new vet. I used the one in headingley opposite the rugby ground, they seemed to think it was okay to just clip the rabbits teeth, they arent very rabbit savvy or friendly.

It's great that I've found someone who's had their bun neutered there, I think I'll opt for Holly House then :D

Hm, is it called Aire Veterinary Centre? I'll stay well away!

Oh and I used to volunteer for a rescue in Leeds and they used HH for all their buns aswell :) So they must be good!

All the best for your bun's neuter, let us know how he does :)

Abbey House in Morley, very good but also extremely pricey

I used Wakefield Vets4Pets, there's one in Leeds too, it was about £40 for a neuter which included two after checks.

Westwood Vets at Garforth and Boston Spa..
Ive never had a problem and I use them for bunnies, dog, cat, and they also have a large animal practice so I use them for my horse too.
Have done many neuters, spays dentals etc for mine and have been excellent

Holly House is very good, though I only take my tortoise there; as stuart there is Immense with Tortys.

I use Calder Vet who have a rabbit specialist. There are located throughout west Yorkshire, although their central animal hospital is located in Dewsbury.

For neutering I use a different vet in Bradford called Sage, they do an absolute superb service with neuters, the reason I don;t use calder is there neutered my Lola and made a horrendous mess of her, the wound was a mess, they gave her back covered in blood and glue.

Abbey House aren't that good in honesty. Have you seen the accommodation they provide for rabbits who need hospitalising? The largest cage is 100cm, the smallest is 60cm. This is for bunnies alone, in the 'rabbit wing'. They seem to think these are adequate for a pair of bunnies; I found out after a trip there in an emergency with Lenny and Betty.
