um, have an issue guys

Velveteen wont go back in her cage!!! she refuses to go and freaks out..she wants to be in the WHOLE room. also I am a huge germ-a-phobe so I was wondering since we found her as a stray if she scratched me if I could get some weird illness from her?
I washed them with antibactirial soap and water then put neo on it and then put bandaids on it... btw...she won........she is in the room free roaming still

Don't worry I have never got anything off a bunny in 12 years.

You sound like my partner. lol I very much doubt you can get anything from a bunny including a stray.

I've never heard of catching anything from buns either, and I've helped out at a rabbit rescue (100ish buns) and shes never caught anything either..... I dont think they carry as much as cats and dogs (or rats!)

Does it seem that she's scared of the cage itself, or just that the smaller space frustrates her, and she wants more room to roam?

BINGO, hit the nail right on the head. I am sure she is frustrated because limited space. She thumbs her foot at me  but as I said before she was a stray from a fur farm and I was merley out visiting my mom and uncle to escape vegas stress and Velveteen so happened to show up and me and my big heart managed to catch her slowly so we were not prepared for a rabbit she just happened into my life and all we had was the dog crate. I finally broke down and let her out of the crate so I am hoping she will be fine in the room. there is nothing she can get hurt on there is nothing in that room besides her boxes and her balls she plays with and rubs on and her blanket and crate..however I am worried she will chew the walls I am wondering If I should go with a puppy pen for a cage. I seen those stack em' things on here..idk what you call them but I have seen them and liked them. how much are those and where can I buy them? =3

No, you wouldn't get any disease unless the bun were actually sick *and* it happens to be an illness that humans can catch.
When Aiden had clostridium the vet warned us to always wash our hands whenever we touched him, as that particular bacterial infection can be passed on to humans.

I don't know if she is sick, but I know I have to take her to get her vet cert before we leave. She does make grunting noises but I figured that was normal since she is running circles around my feet whenever she sees me and she likes to flop and roll on me..not sure what that is all about...I have TONS to learn.

Also I have been washing my hands after touching her and washed my hands asap after she scratched me. anti bacterial soap, hot water then neosporned it so hopefully she didn't give me anything.

 Well done taking this bun in.
Would definitely take her to a vet & get her checked over, vaccinated & discuss a good time for neutering.
Also are you sure she is a she? Its just the circling/grunting sounds a bit boyish to me!
Re her chewing things in her room that you don't want her to - you can try to avoid this by making sure the bun has plenty to do ie things to play with, tunnels, chew toys, loads of hay to munch etc.
Also IMO the majority of buns love space for a good run around & that in itself helps reduce destructive behaviour.

KB's advice above is very good :)

I also agree with your idea about either getting her a puppy pen to extend the size of her cage, or letting her free range in the room.

My rabbits are very destructive so I have a pen for when I'm not home, about 8' x 4'. Then they free range when I can supervise them. They chew doorframes etc but I've made guards to protect them.

If you put something like "housing" or "indoor cages" into the search tool at the top of the page, you should find a few thread with pictures of spacious indoor housing :)

Well done for taking her in :)

she stayed in the room running around all night and nothing chewed on. =3
ONLY complaint is the room now smells of rabbit urine and it is disgusting! it is from the crate..she likes to go in there and pee. I also found a fur farm 16mins from us and it is the ONLY rabbit farm around with Standard Rex' so I contacted them and asked them if they vaccinate their stock at all just being curious and all. I am pretty sure she came from them..I need to check her ear for a tat aswell..I spaced

I doubt they vaccinate, it'd probably lose them money. I think rabbit meat is quite cheap?

they maybe cheap but everything that goes into them isnot. feed, hay, housing..we are talking about people making a living off these animals for fur and their meat. i'd asume they would vaccinate to keep their whole herd safe and the spread of illness down but again..I am new and I live in the city so to even imagine animals still grown and killed for fur is a tad tacky imo and curiousity led me to contact them so I will know..either way I will be taking her to the vets on Monday. :) made the appointment already.

If she has come from a fur farm she may not have been kept in good conditions and being confined in a crate may remind her of her previous home and be traumatic. I would not force her to go in, bunny-proof the room and let her be free-range.

If she is peeing in the crate sounds like she may have already litter trained herself for you! Make sure the bedding in the crate is absorbant and clean it out every day or every other day so she does not get urine burn, will keep the smell down too. Avoid wood shavings/sawdust as they are a health risk.

When you take her to the vets ask them to sex and approximately age her, and do a health check before vaccinating. The only thing I imagine you might catch from her is fleas. Most rabbits kept in commercial conditions are not vaccinated, it is seen as too expensive (£20-60 a year per bunny depending on vet prices). It is cheaper just to replace them.

eta - She definately wont be neutered, so ask the vet about this too, you want to find a vet that is well practised at the operation and bunny-care.

Sadly the housing will be no better than battery hens :( You bunny has had one hell of a lucky escape. They wouldn't want to spend more than so many pence per rabbit during its lifetime so that the profit would be more than the cost of raising it. I don't see them having proper food and hay either.
The majority of these places don't see them as animals, they see them as produce :(

Pop a litter tray(change it daily) in the crate for her & it sounds like the two of you will have litter tray training done & dusted :)
As she is a Rex from a fur farm I'd check the bottoms of all her feet as she will have been kept on wire.
Rex buns have no guard hairs so are more at risk of sore hocks & other foot pad problems than some other buns.

Velveteen ONLY goes in the crate so I can vaccume her room and she is then let out again she doesn't like the crate...she HATES IT! and I am not going to force her to go in anything that is going to upset her. She has full run of the room, gets fresh bunny safe herbs and veggies, Hay, salt lick, treats and toys boxes (she LOVES boxes) and her blanket she lays on.
what a shame they allow rabbits to live in horrid conditions. :(
and yes her hocks are bald with tiny scabs. not as bad as I have seen on google but still there. =/

ADDED: Do you guys think she will have an issue with the X-pen aswell as a XXL dog crate?

Perhaps I need to explain myself better
If she is going into the crate to toilet (I got that impression from your post) then if you put a litter tray in there with the door still open you will be able clean up more easily.
I wasn't suggesting you lock her in there!
Re X pens - its possible to join a few together so that they are long enough to fit right around the room. This will protect walls, skirting boards etc but still give the entire room so your bun shouldn't feel constrained at all.

I am so very sorry for it was late lastnight when I was typing and I was very tired so I misread that.

Velv has the run of the room I would love to have one of those link pens I see people use where I can add levels but really I just need to section off a part around the door so I can walk in and she cannot run out
