Hello Everyone!

We are all watching our pennies at the moment so I thought I'd try a new thread for people to post rabbit husbandry bargains. They could be anything to do with keeping rabbits.

I'll start:

ALDI: celery @ 39p

Animal Magic Pet Supplies: www.animalmagicpetsupplies.co.uk: rabbit toys, food, bed o'linum and specialist hays at reduced prices.

Past it's best before date veg at Sainsburys -free

Offcuts of carpet from various carpet retailers: free:D

Lavender, thyme, rosemary - buy them from Lidl when they have offers on for gardening and plants and you've a year round supply of bunny treats!

Cobnut and willow - same thing - plant up in autumn or spring and you will have a great source of healthy natural treats.

Dandelions - if you dont' have any locally you can get seeds from The Hay Experts and they keep coming. Plantain too.

 I just bought some, can't wait to plant them out :D I set four pots of rocket 2 days ago, Monty Don reckons it's the perfect time of year for this as it can withstand a touch of frost  We shall see

Great ideas everyone! Keep them coming! I love the idea of growing my own treats and will be starting off my own rocket soon. It does withstand some frost and I have found that salads do better earlier in the season as the slugs are less active.

Willow chew sticks: buy a roll of willow lawn edging from poundland and unwrap the willow sticks from the wire. Lots of folks on the chinchilla forum do this.

When you go to the supermarket, look in the broccoli bins and pinch all the stalks people break off  I never pay for it as it's effectively rubbish :D

Untreated wicker baskets from poundstretcher - they're very cheap and if you get a big one and cut the bottom out it makes a tunnel :)

Brown bags from mcdonalds take aways. Great filled with hay, pellets, leaves etc then tied up high with string.

Seed trays filled with soil and cheap grass seed sown on, makes a reusable grass treat for indoor buns or to put in hutches for days when outside buns cant go out.
