Vets Advice - Herb Hay

allie1904

Mama Doe
Went to the vet today regarding Smudges snuffles. She was happy with him and his chest sounded clear :)

Her advice at the moment is just to put some weight on him and help build up his immune system. For any further exacerbations she is happy for us to continue with me doing the engemycin injections at home.

She recommended some herbal hay..

Soo..

Which ones are yummy?! Preferably from the hay experts please

Also, are there any pellets which are higher energy density than normal ones?

Also, Also, where can I get some probiotic for the water?

Sorry for the million questions

You can get Probiotics from Vet Uk. I use biolapsis in the water as its lower in sugar but some bunnies are fussy about things added to water so you might find the pro fibre pellets better.

Enchinea is a really good herb for helping the immune system. You can buy it in herbal form or I use liquid from Holland and Barrett. I used to use 1ml liquid to one bottle of water, but now have started using 4 drops on his food instead as it seems to be more effective.

I've been using science selective pellets as I used to use A&P which wasn't high enough calories for a poorly bunny. Junior pellets are great if buns have trouble keeping weight on. (Remember to change gradually).

Nettle is also supposed to be good for respitory probs so a herbal hay with this in might be good.

Sorry to babble on. Bluebell has been battling a respitory infection for months now so I did a lot of research.

galens garden is good for herbs and even do echinacea in pellet form. and i agree with the nettle aswell.

i used to use probiotics in the water but found the pro-fibre much better. i get that from vet uk.

so that's not the hayexperts  but galens garden is really good. :D
