  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

dental bun broke peg tooth

Well my poor little gizmo is in the wars again:( He has had his insiors out about a year go and had a dental in december to trim his molars but there is one peg tooth they haven't been able to remove and it keeps growing back and the vet trims it when needed.

However tonight i went to give gizmo a biscuit treat and he seemed to be unable to take even a tiny piece so i took a closer look and seen his mouth was all wet. :(:( So i picked him up and [as he is very good for me] i laid him back so i could look at his mouth and seen that his peg tooth is wobbly. and he is clearly being annoyed by it.

I phoned the emergency vet and they said to give him metacam which i have done and they have booked him in for tomorrow morning. He is still eatting and drinking and going to the toilet so they said as long as we keep his pain down he should be fine. I am just worried about him, it must be so annoying for him. Please send vibes for him. he has no luck. poor little gizmo. i wish i could just take the tooth out for him :(:(:(

Oooh that made me cringe. I hope he has a not too annoyed night and they can help him tomorrow.
