cutting nails

how low should they be? i know your supposed to stay above the quick but the boys nails are black and i cant see it, today is the first time ive done it myself i only took off a little bit as was a bit scared but the nails look really long still is there another method for knowing how short the nails can go?

Well ive managed to trim the very tips but if anyone could show me a pic of properly trimmed nails that would be fantastic mainly the black ones as i can easily see the quick on the white nails

My vet said use the fur as a guide, nails (claws whatever) should be the same level as the fur on thier feetsies :wave:

really? the hair on there feet is so long tho, my boys are netherland drawfs and their hair on their feet is much longer than their nails
