The Tribe has a new boar!

Young Bun
The last weeks have not been easy for me. First Llewelyn, the neutered boar of the Tribe, was diagnosed with an abdominal tumor. It was heartbreaking to watch him slowly fade away. Then his successor Hywel developed late rare post neutering complications only days after coming here and was literally at death's door two weeks ago. I am very grateful to the generous help and support I received from rescue and forum people - it saved his life!

Thankfully, he has now recovered well enough to join his girls. He is still very thin and it will take time for him to regain his weight, but he is not longer in major pain.

Here are some pics and video clips from his intro. Hywel has been spending an increasing amount of time socialising with the girls (whenever it was safe), so things have gone pretty smoothly.

Here are some pics of the intro:

Your tribe and set-up is amazing  They look so healthy and happy. So glad that Hywel is on the road to recovery xxx

Thanks!

I just love my my piggies and the dynamics of a fully bonded herd; it is utterly fascinating!

Do they all have a run of a room together ?

That is so cute, how you have so many in a group, i bet you get lots of happy squeaking from them

Yes, whenever I am here (which is most of the time, as I work from home) they all roam the living room together now as a proper piggy herd. Overnight and otherwise, I cordon off some extra space in front of the pen - it doesn't matter, as nobody is in the room, anyway!

Here is the evening set up with Hywel's temporary next door pen:

And yes, the wheeking choir is impressive and very persistent!
