Langford Referal Service

Amy104

Warren Veteran
Obviously I am happy to pay if they are going to help but anyone have any idea roughly how much a referal costs (I know tests and meds ect will be extra).

Can I ask my vet to see if I can specifically see Richard Saunders?

I think the clinic day is a weds so would it be better to take a day off work?

I dont know how much a referral is but I believe that Snowy (Theo) went there so if you PM her she may able to give you some idea.

As for taking a day off work, well if the Clinic only sees referrals on a Wednesday I guess you'll have to :?

I dont see why you cant specifically request to see RS.

I have taken bunnies there and the bill is usually between £300-£500 depending on what you have done, I will go and look up one of my invoices and see what I paid but they are very thorough and very, very good

The referal vet is Richard Saunders and he is only there on a Wednesday, but your vet can insist that the appointment is with him, he is a very nice man and he is just brilliant

ETA Just found one of the invoices........

Referral £130

Radiology set up and initial view £148

Radiology additional views £26

Ultrasound £57

Other things I have been charged for vary so much, like medications, bloods etc etc but for the service you get I don't feel it's expensive, usually a consulation lasts for about an hour and you can ask as many questions as you like and nothing is too much trouble, eveything is explained to you in detail, I would recommend anyone to go and get specialist advice

Good luck

Richard is the only rabbit referral vet there so your appointment should be with him if you book via the rabbit clinic rather than the first opinion practice :)

How do I book via the rabbit clinic. I contacted their email address as I was after a quote as Bluebell is not insured but was told they no longer run a specialist centre?

I didnt think you could and that you had to be referred by your regular vet?

Thats a long old way from Bristol compared to Langford :(

How does Bluebell & Friend Travel Amy?

To be sure, but Theo had to do it with her buns.
And tbh,if Amy says they no longer run a specialist centre....which is puzzling.....Id be around to help, offer refreshments and Id even go with her!!! (just for a drool).....
and Bristol is about 2 and a bit hrs away.Thats not so bad....is it??

Bluebell not too bad, Willow gets super stressed, so much so I actually seperate them for the short trip to our vets as we are only gone for a short time, but not sure I'd want to split for several hours. Oh dear.

I've asked Anne at RWAF if she can clarify where Richard works at the mo as he is listed on the highcroft referal website. I think its new, opened this year.

Bristol (Langford) don't have a refferal clinic anymore but there are other specialists that you can be refered to, I should imagine that you will have to travel wherever you go, there is John Chitty in Hampshire that would be closer

John is currently fixing my bunny :) he's just north of Salisbury. As I work full time I do an hour drive there with bun and leave him there for the day, drive back home for work. Then after work go back to get him.

Have all the rabbit specialists at Langford moved on? There were a couple of specialist vets there when we went.

Ive been to the Exotics at Great western, swindon.
