Wondering what month vaccines are best done?

Obv they need 2 vaccines - Mixo and VHD. They need to be given 2 weeks appart as you all know but what month is best and when do you get yours done, so i can compare it to mine? Was just wondering if it is more effective in certian months so they have time to produce their antibodies (if thats what they do :lol:) for 'bad' months or outbreaks, if there is a bad month :D just need to cheak to make sure mine is done on the best possible time :wave:
 
March is a good month...just before the flies come...then as its 6 monthly for myxi,October,
thats when my lot get done.xx
 
i do myxi in march and september, and i do vhd in april. i leave a month between the two, just because it's better for my two that way. :)
 
Yes, mine were due in February, but I've left it a bit to do it in March before the flies start appearing.

Not sure about the best month for VHD as I don't do that one.
 
I ted to get mine done end Jan/Early Feb and End July/Early August, which means they are fully covered for the times when Myxi is most rife.
 
I don't think there's a definitive answer.

If you are only vaccinating once yearly, the vaccine manufacturer recommends to do it in May/June but there are no such guidelines for 6 mthly boosters as far as I know.

Alfie and Bubbles had theirs at the beginning of February and so are due again at the beginning of August.
 
For what it's worth, I'd say myxi is best done Feb/March and August/Sept :wave: Having said that, Tilly was vaccinated in the March and got myxi September, so blows that theory out of the water :?
