Hi All we are new here. We have only had polo for 4 weeks and he/she is now12 weeks old. Polo comes into the house and goes into the garden with me on the few dry days we have had. We have bought bordom breakers for in the house and the cage, but after a short time in the house polo starts to dig at the carpets and bite my curtains not sure what he/she is trying to tell us. When I put the toys in front of polo he/she will play with them then go back to biting the carpet. Polo is out of the cage for 5-6 hrs a day is this too short or to long.

we are grateful for any advice as we want the best for Polo. I am saying he/she as the vet a few weeks back said polo was to immature to sex as yet, when we go back for the next jabs he said he would be able to tell us.
Polo is my daughters rabbit she is only 10 so is just getting use to handling it.

:) Michelle,

Hi and welcome to ru :)

How big is Polo's cage?
With house buns the general rule is, anything that you don't want destroyed needs to be locked off or removed from reach :p
House rabbits can be very destructive, I should know I have 8 of them LOL

One thing I will say tho, is it really sounds like you need a rabbit savvy vet, buns can be sexed from day one (if you know what you're looking for) so for a vet to say that Polo is too immature to sex to me says the vet isn't a rabbit specialist :?

Polo's cage is big enough to house three rabbits, it has two stories to it also although he spends most of the time on the top of the cage. I meant to say that we bring polo in to the house to run about as we live on a garrison and the sound of the tanks frightens him/her. I have a feeling that polo is a male just by looking myself and the behaviour, my mum kept male rabbits and polo acts a lot like they did.
We keep the cage in the garage also as we are surrounded by woods and after reading on here about foxes and dogs we thought this would be the safest option. Thanks for your advice about the vet also

Michelle.:)
