Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Big tummy

Young Bun
hi guys, i need to ask something.. about big tummy

see, puchi loves to eat pellets, she even sit all day beside's the pellet box. then this morning, when i wake up, i found her lying on the carpet and rarely moves.. when i pick her up, i found out that his tummy is so big and hard.. :(

You need to get her to a Vet.
If she really does have a 'hard fat tummy' then she has bloat. Bloat can be FATAL. So I'd call the Vet NOW. Apart from keeping her warm there is nothing you can do for her at home. She needs URGENT Veterinary attention as she will be in A LOT of pain.

I'm really sorry about Puchi. I really hope the vet can do something, but unfortunately, this is what can happen when a baby is taken away from its mother at 4 weeks of age.

Puchi won't have all of the strength she should have at such a young age

Vibes for the little one, so young, so fragile.

I agree absolutely with what Graham said.

I have nursed buns through several bouts of stasis but only twice with bloat. In my view bloat is the more difficult and frightening as you have so little time in which to work.

i had a phone call last night, vet said that Puchi didnt make it...
i am going to the clinic to fetch puchi. i will sure miss her, sigh.. can anybody tell me what cause bloat? so that i can prevent it in happening to Sam and poppy?

Maybe posting a thread in Rainbow Bridge for her might be helpful for you?
