  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nebulising Baytril

Following on from my earlier post where Jack's Jane has advised she uses injectable baytril not oral which Bluebell's been prescribed does anyone know where I can get some info to back this up?

I don't think my vets have much experience in nebulising bunnies and haven't rang me back, it would be nice to give them some info. I'm sure it going all foamly like the oral solution has been can't be right surely?

O no! is this another snuffly bun? my little casper has respiratory issues, baytril had no affect on him, instead he got a anti biotic injection which worked really well on him, but all buns are different and need different treatment. Casper was affected on his chest. But i do know buns especially with nasal issues do well with nebulising. I do not know about baytril being used but i do know biscandmatt1 uses a nebuliser daily for her two and it works very well for them. Here is a link to her thread about what she has tried and what works for her buns, hope this helps xxx
