i wasnt thinking about giving it all the time just something to keep him busy every once in a while. would that be okay he is a fairly skinny rabbit and only weights about 2.3kg
Personally, i'd say no. But hey, thats just my opinion.
I wouldnt give it regularly, but occasionally I think is OK. I make my guys porridge once every few months as a treat, and I know JacksJanes Morse loves his oats
For Scooter I actually think they might be good to scatter amongst his hay and hide under things to keep him occupied. Only a few very rarely though
i might try at first in his hay and maybe in like a good couple of months i migfht try him with some actual porrige but not much.
I only ever use it as a last resort for poorly bunnies. I always try to use proper rabbit foods to help them gain weight first. Babs is the only bun here who gets daily porridge for breakfast and I think it is saving her life at the moment. But I would never give it to a healthy bunny
What sort of things do you try? I've been increasing Bluebells food as he's so skinny since he's been poorly but although he eats, he appears to get full and will stop once he's ate a reasonable amount. I tried increasing root veg but worried about sugar content. He loves a teaspoon of ella's kitchen but again is this too much sugar?
