Hi guys,
It's been quite a while since I've been on here, but today I noticed something odd about Leo's back legs. I thought I saw a sore patch on one of his back legs on the inside. Upon closer inspection (ie turning him upside down) I could see that it appeared to have lost hair, but didn't look sore. It didn't seem red/ inflammed, it wasn't bleeding and there was no pus. Just bald. It was the normal pinkish colour of a white furred rabbit's skin.
And then I noticed he had an identical patch on the other back leg! Apologies for the awful description, but the bald spots are sort of located in the bit where the top of the back foot joins the leg, on the inside 'bendy' bit.
The possible ideas I can think of are:
Mites/ fleas, living in the warm 'elbow bit'.
Urine scold? Bit of an odd place though, no hair loss around genitals either.
His rabbit friend pulling it out
Pulling fur out for other reasons
I didn't get a great look at it, he hates being picked up at the best of times. I'm going to have another look tomorrow if possible, and keep an eye on it for a few days. There was no obvious swellings and no scabs. It *could* have been inflammed but if it was it certainly wasn't obvious. It's just odd that its both legs and in such a random place :?
Any ideas?
