Garden bark

Hi everyone, is garden bark (the stuff in a bag from garden centers) safe for bunnies as I've been looking at a boarding home for my two while I'm away and although they will have access to grass they will have bark in half of the run area. The lady said the bunnies love to dig in the bark and just have fun. Is this right??

I used to have it in their runs without problems. I think it depends on whether it's treated with chemicals or not
