  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Wise Old Thumper
We took Olly to the vets again tonight and he had his second injection of convenia. Two days after the last one he seemed to improve, but went downhill again at about day 9... So instead of waiting 2 weeks again we are going back in 10 days for another one. Just want my bunny to be better again! He keeps doing dead bunny flops and frightening me to death! I even got hold of one his back legs yesterday while he was dead bunny flopping, and moved it up and down, he didn't move a muscle!!! :? So I went in the kitchen to get him some medicine, and next minute he leapt out of his cage and started running round me in circles! I'm sure he does it on purpose!! :)

That's awesome! And exactly what we found. We also first cut it down to 10 days and then because it was 7 days with improvement we then dosed every 7 days.

We dosed until a month after we stopped seeing improvements.

I'm chuffed you've seen positive things in him.

come on Olly boy!
