Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Do they look like a good weight? *pictures*

They don't feel skinny, but I think Jack (mini rex) has lost weight (or lost fat?) because when I pick him up he feels lighter. Then again, Timmy is overweight so maybe I'm just used to Timmy's weight or something... I can't easily feel their bones/spine and they're eating hay better than the last 3 months (finally they're properly converted, even stalky bits lately :D ). Poops are great, nice and big and gold. Easy to break apart with my fingers.

I guess I'm just paranoid. Ben (black nethie) always looks kinda skinny in pics. :( But he doesn't feel it :? Should I try giving them more pellets?

I don't think Ben looks too skinny. He looks proper nethie size, but instead of basing it off of looks, why not give him a weigh?

I didn't even think about weighing them! Okay, I'll try that. I don't have a scale but I'll try holding them on the wii board (you can have it weigh you) and then subtracting my weight. They were weighed at the vets on Oct 1st. Ben weighed 3.9 lbs and Jack weighed 4.5 lbs but they were both a little overweight at the time. So they should weigh a little less than that... although I don't trust the vets that weighed them :evil:

I dont think either of them are too skinny hun
Ben looks pretty perfect and Id say if anything Jack could still afford to lose abit more (not alot though!) Thats just from sight though, if youre worried get your vet to weigh them.
Both gorgeous buns by the way  I dont think Ive seen your buns before :oops:

Yay :D I feel better now. Thanks you two :)

Thanks! I've posted baby pics of Ben and Timmy before, and maybe Jack once. I never have many pics on my laptop. My brother always has the thing I use to download the pics from my camera to my laptop so I never end up doing it.

They look alright to me but it's hard to tell from pictures. Pipkin was underweight this time last year and you couldn't tell until you picked him up!
I think if you can weigh them and try to keep track of their weight that would be best.
