You know it's winter when....

.....you go to the beach to look for some amber, and you can't find the water's edge. :lol:

We are currently on a small island off the Danish west coast, and this is the view from the beach towards Britain:




This is the cottage we are staying in, at the edge of a forest:




We put out some bird food, and look what huge birds they have here (right outside the sitting room):




There are a lot of wild rabbits and even more bunny poos, which look very pretty with frost on them:




The shells have put on their frost coats, too:

I hope it'll stay frosty, it's very pretty, and when we come home from our walks, we start the log fire and eat Danish biscuits.

With all that ice you can almost walk here, lol. Although the ice is moving in some places, making a funny little tingling sound.

More practically, you can fly to Denmark for very little money, and then rent a car. This island is great for cycling, too, but not at this time of year. In late June they have a huge kite festival. And there are loads of holiday cottages that you can rent, some cheap and simple, others more luxurious. This is the website of the island:
