Starting to build new hutch and enclosure on boxing day out of pine wood ,can i stain or paint the outside of the hutch and what type should i use?? abit lost!

dont use stain. the majority of fence paints are animal friendly.

Yes cuprinol shades is a good water based paint or Pets at Home sell a stain.

Hi just to say be careful of doing any form of painting in this weather. water based preservatives will freeze, not go off and will peel very quickly.
