I know there are plenty of threads about rabbit who wont eat hay, but when I ran out of food at the weekend (having planned to go shopping on friday, but had car crash on Thursday so couldn't), all I had was hay, and some (slightly frozen) grass cuttings from the garden - Snorkmaiden still refused to eat it. It seems she would rather starve herself than eat hay or grass! When I put straw in for bedding it did slowly vanish, but I don't know how much of that is her and how much is her hubby Snuffkin (who also wont eat hay). My other pair, mother and daughter Serena and Stitch, love hay of ANY type that I have tried (PaH, Timothy, Hay Cookies, Sainsburys, farm etc), but I can't seem to find one that Snorkie does.
If she will eat straw would that be a good "better than nothing" thing to give, or will it bad for their digestive systems long-term, because it's much harder?
