  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I live in loughborough and travel out of town to the vets. does anyone know of a vets in Loughborough? ive heard that The Hollies is good, not sure if this is for rabbits tho ?? :D

There is an exotics vet in the Leceister area but I'm afraid I don't know where or the name but if you PM Lilbun she will tell you

ETA Lilbun works long hours so may not reply until late at night. Her regular vets are also very good, but there is an exotics bunny vet the clinic uses for referrals as well.

hello. I live in leicester and i found it hard to find a good rabbit vet. I just started using the vets at pets at home. They rehome rabbits there and have all there own equiptment on site. I.e exray machine blood testing epuipment and so on. Only used them once but the seem ok. There is one at st georges retail park and one at fosse park.

Meadow Lane Veterinary Surgery is excellent. Used to take my parrots there as this was one of their specialisms. Never taken my rabbits there (use King Richards Road) but would if didn't have current option.
Number is 01509 212437

The exotics vet I take my bunnies to when they are really poorly is Craig Hunt at Chine House in Sileby. He is excellent and see both first and second opinion cases, as when as a range of other 'exotic' species
