? distended abdomen

Hi,

I might be a bit paranoid since Furby passed away. When I took Ellie to the vet immediately after Furby to make sure she was ok, he asked if they had a distended abdomen. Nothing was noted at that point.

Fast forward 1 month and Ellie seems to have a larger abdomen than before although I admit she has just really accepted me holding and touching her.
It is quite soft and doesnt seem to be causing her any pain when I push on it.

She is peeing and pooping and has not lost her appetite at all.
Her behaviour is slightly off as she doesnt seem as happy as she was when I stroke her but she still does accept it. This may be due to the fact that I cut her nails by myself for the first time 2 days ago and she did not like that.

Should I be worried about her abdomen? I cant get to the vet in the next couple of days due to work and she doesnt seem off but I now worry even more.

Thanks

Should I be worried about her abdomen?

Not unless her appetite diminishes and/or there is a decrease in droppings in size and quantity. A soft abdomen is what you normally want. I would be more concerned if it were distended and hard.

Thank you so much.
like I said Im so much more paranoid since Furby passed away. I just couldnt handle the thought of not noticing something with Ellie!

Thanks loads

As PL said aslong as shes eating well and well in herself im sure shes fine.
Its so hard when ur scarred from losing a bun, the paranoia about the others just escalates. Ive just started to relax with mine after losing my Tilly nearly a year ago :(

If it is something new, then it might be worth getting checked out. It could be caused by fluid build up which has a number of causes or she may have a problem with her tummy emptying properly :?

But I am sure in 99% of cases it is nothing to worry about :)

my problem is I dont know if its new or not.
Ellie has just really started letting me touch, stroke and hug her. She and Furby came to me for food but that was it. I hadnt actually stroked her in about 4 years. She hated it!

She is very moody at the moment. she seems slightly happier now that I have left her out in the snow for a bit.

I think I will have to keep a very close eye on her I think...not sure if there is actually anything going on...
