Urgent Advice Needed - Hair Loss!

Young Bun
Hi everyone!

Dont know if you are aware of my situation...

Basically we recently got a new lady bunny to bond with our male. Both have been 'done'. They were sent away for bonding and have been home for about 2 weeks. We have had no problems at all and they seem to be getting on really well.

After work today I went out to the shed to give them their dinner (obviously they are outside rabbits). There were clumps of fur (from the male) everywhere! I checked him over and couldnt see any patches. Is it possable for clumps to fall out when they are growing their new winter fur or have we got a problem? It was definatly from the male as they are different colours. I am really worried but seeing as he has no patches is this a good sign?

Any advice would be great :D

Thanks xxx

It could be moulting although it does seem a bit late in the year for it. Have you seen any chasing or humping? This can often lead to fur pulling which is probably what you are seeing. Do you know which bun is the dominant one?

I thought the male was the dominant one, he very much seems to be! I have only seen humping once. There was quite a lot of hair and it was in clumps. It really scared me. There was so much i picked most of it up and it was more then I could fit in my hand. We also noticed the females hair is getting a bit thin round her neck. Do you think they may be scrapping?
