Soft poo help please.

Barney rubble

Hi:wave:
As some of you may know Marley arrived last night, and this morning and most of the day has been doing "normal" poo's but also soft poo's. She has come with some of her own mix feed, which is what she has had, but just wondering if anyone can help with what could be causing them, is it the stress of travelling/new home?? She has also had some soft poo which was stuck to her fur, She's a beautiful lionhead rabbit and I've never had to clean up Barney for this problem, so I am worried to do the right thing for her. Obviously I removed the soft poo, but not sure if I need to clean the reast of her bottom,or how. I don't want to stress her out as she only arrived last night. Help please:cry:

Is she indoors or out?
Are you planning on gradually switching her over to a pellet?

The soft poo you explain, is it like the normal poo only softer (wetter) or like a small cluster?

If it is the normal type of poops only softer then yes it could well be due to stress of moving, in which case increase fibre by means of lots of hay and decrease the veg slightly until it rectifies.

If it is the small cluster- These are called Ceacotrophes and she should be eating these straight from her bum, there are several reasons why she may not be but I will wait to hear back from you before I go in to all that in case it is not the edible poops you are talking about.

I would try and clean her bum up a bit, especially if she is an out door bun as she would be more subseptible to Flystrike.
You can either do a 'Botty bath' or just try wiping her bum with wet piece of kitchen roll and see if that will remove the poop.

What ever you need to try and dry her bum off after wards with a towel.

Thank you for you reply, We have Barney on SS, will gradually be moving her onto these as well, by mixing it in slowly with her mix.
She is an indoor bunny, It's just one softer poo she is doing. I've not given her any vege today, and she has lots of hay to eat, but hasn't been eating alot. I've tried to give her bottom a little wipe with just a wet cotton pad, but it has already dried on, making it hard to remove. Not sure what else to try, or if just to see if she'll clean it up herself??

I gave her a botty bath last night, thank you so much for ur advice:D
I couldn't bare to leave her like that and she is VERY friendly so easy to handle. She wasn't as bad as she had been earlier, but it was pretty dried on, and she has white fur, so lookd prob worse than it was. Thanx again really apprieciate it.
