yorkshire bunnies
New Kit
Hi there.
I feed my rabbits on grass which i cut in our garden. I use a manual push cylinder mower (no engine or motor) with collector. When they hear me using it they usually become very interested in anticipation. They go mad for it but would'nt touch the grass i once gave them that was cut using a rotary mower (petrol driven) - have'nt tried it again.
The grass is a natural lawn with some lawn weeds in it such as dandelion and clover. They usually eat any dandelion flowers first! We have never treated the grass with anything (fertiliser or weedkiller). I do dig out any ragwort i see growing before cutting. Ragwort is a horse killer and probably would'nt do the buns any good either.
Do you think it is acceptable to carry on with this regime? They do get hay, veg and pellets also.
Thanks, stu
