Quivering

Indy

Warren Scout
I had my little man in the house for half an hour today, he loves sitting on my lap or snuggling in my hoody, but he quivers most of the time. Is he just hot from coming inside?

He's happy to explore and nudge me so didnt know if it would be fear shaking?

I've only experienced that when Dudley had to go to the vet on his own when he'd stopped eating, he seemed to be shivering I put it down to fear :(

Is this the only time he is handled? Does he live outdoors normally? How socialised is he with humans? Many people mistake a bun enjoying a cuddle for a bun tolerating it because he has no choice, please don't take that the wrong way , generally buns aren't big fans of being held on laps and prefer to be snuggled on the ground with their four feet firmly on it. Can you sit with bun in/near his home so he can come over to you voluntarily for a snuggle?

Quivering if accompanied by rapid nose movement can either be fear or heat strress, usually the situation bun is in will tell you which it is. If it's any consolation the minute I pick Nino or Poppy up, although both well socialised house rabbits now, they really only enjoy being petted on the ground and Poppy will pant and Nino will 'choo choo' like a train when held. It's a natural response for a prey species.

:) Thanks.

He's very people orientated, will hop out of his hutch, climb into my lap if im doing something and give me a good nudge. When he has free run of the kitchen he'll have a mad five minutes and then come over and lay either next to me or on my lap which is why i wasnt sure if the shaking was fear related?
