Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Should I be worried?

When i went to change the buns water this morning, there were two worms moving around in the bowl... I feel worried but I dont know if the worry is justified

can anyone reassure me or let me know if I need to get the buns checked over?

Thanks

I'm not sure. They were the same colour as an earth worm, but much shorter and fatter, about 1.5" long. Also, I thought earthworms would bloat and die in water, and these ones looked fine
:?

Hmm not sure what they are.. I know I have found earth worms before. I have just tipped them out and washed the bowl and filled with fresh water. No harm to the bunnies at all.

Maybe they were just baby earth worms and hadnt been in the bowl too long. Hope so. I tipped them out and cleaned the bowl, and the buns are running around

I'll keep my eye on them

Maybe when they appear again take a photo maybe someone will be able to identify the worm see if harmless or not?

just realised my error, I meant they were much shorter and thinner than an earth worm
does this make a difference?

:lol:I'm certain they were not slugs!

I do find slugs quite a lot in their food bowls though, ewwe

Sorry  I knew it was an obvious question!
