Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

baby rabbit sneezing?

Hi guys,

well its been 3 days since Furby passed away and Ellie is unbelievably sad. She wont move from her spot in the hutch and is actaully letting me stroke her loads, which is strange since she wouldnt let me touch her before.

I think I need to get her a companion.
I saw a 9week old male mini lop who seemed very docile.
Picked him up, gave him a good stroke and thought he would be good. However after putting him down, he started to sneeze about 7 times.

There was no discharge that I could see.
What are the chances that the baby has something wrong with him?

Also as long as I intorduce them slowly, would this pairing be ok? Ellie is a 4.5 year old female who has been spayed and wouldnt say boo to a fly.

he is in a pet store that have been breeding their own rabbits for a long time. I guess I could ask them to hold on to it for another week and see if anything develops?

Where abouts are you in the country? There are so many rescue buns honestly I'ld find a bun from there. You often get a healthier bun and help with bonding. I've been spoilt and gotten my last 4 from a fabulous lady in Warwick. I could never bring myself to but a bun in a shop....sorry!!!!!

If you buy from a shop, you wont get a vacced, neutered bunny....there are thousands in rescue just waiting for their forever homes, they will bond for you too...just an idea!!xxxxxx
