Young Bun
my little baby lionhead jumped from my arms and cannot use his front right leg, im devastated and feel terrible he doesnt seem to be in pain but.. ofcourse he will be its such a shame. I have sat with him since 9:00pm tonight its now 2:43am and still he wont move, im terrified hes going to have to get put down, hes only 4 months old.. !!PLEASE!! if anyone has any advice or help they can give post here hes just a baby :(:(:(:( thankyou

I would take him to the vet in the morning. They can probably x ray it and see if it's broken or just sprained and there's bunny safe pain meds he can prescribe if he needs it. Since it's so late in the night you need to make sure he's still eating and drinking as bunnies in pain tend to stop and they go into something called G.I. stasis which will be much more dangerous than his arm. If he's not eating try and entice him with his fave treats to keep him eating. I hope this helps and I can only imagine how worried you must be.

Hopefully someone on here can also recommend a good rabbit savvy vet as it's very important to have a vet well versed in buns.

Hi there, please try and not panic as buns can pick up your feelings and you could stress him out. Take a deep breath.

Your rabbit really needs to see a vet as soon as possible, rabbits are very good at hiding pain so although he may not seem in pain he probably is. If you are registered with a vet they will have an out-of hours service or a number you can call. Has he eaten anything since it happened? Rabbits need to keep eating as a gut slowdown as thebuz mentioned (G.I stasis) can cause serious problems and that's the last thing you need at the moment.

I'm from Midlothian so can give you the number of a good rabbit vet near Edinburgh if it's any help. Best of luck and I'll be here for another while if you need the number.

I'm so sorry to hear about your bunny.

Please keep trying to tempt him with food. [Bunnys can't vomit so they can eat right up until an operation. As the Buz says their tummys stop working very quickly if they're in pain or don't eat].

You are only a stone's throw away from a top rabbit center in Edinburgh - The Royal D!ck Veterinary College. I'd advise you to phone them 1st. thing today & try to get your bun seen there.

Ah, I didn't know how to put it in without it blanking the name out! That's where I was talking about, it's in Roslin so not an awful long way from you. They're very good and have a specialist rabbit clinic, number is (0131) 650 7650.

Please let us know how you get on today & how your bun is.

Coineanach, the 1st. time I tried to type the name of that vet school I was  got quite frustrated & told the computer "I'm NOT swearing!" I didn't know it had moved out to Roslin though.

Hows your bun now? Did you get to the vets?

I have been to the Royal D!ck and can highly recommend them :)

How is your bun today?

I live just outside Livingston and use Companion Care in Pets at Home. The D!ck Vet would be better, but if like me you have no transport then CC have been fine with all my buns.
