Meet Gypsy - Update 24/2/2011 surgery for lump removal

abbymarysmokey

Wise Old Thumper
This is Gypsy, who arrived here earlier today.

She was given up to a rescue a few weeks ago with an abscess on her nose, which was removed by the rescue's vet...but poor Gypsy hasn't got better, and judging by the pus from her eyes and nose, I think there may be something major going on :(

She's also not eating very well (she seems keen to eat, but quickly loses interest) so I think the infection may be in her mouth too. The poor girl is skin and bone underneath that fluffy coat

She'll be going to see my vet asap...so please keep your fingers crossed that something can be done for her.

And a close up to show the extent of the discharge, and the scabs on her nose from the abscess

Poor girl, I have got one like that and he has had extensive treatment and is a lot better although he is off to the specialist again soon

Good luck and I am sure with your care she will improve

This is how Pud was when we got him and he had an abscess on his nose which has all cleared up now but he suffers from lots of nasal infections now.

Poor Gypsy fingers and Paws crossed here that your Vet can help him, sending him lots of Vibes xx

Sending her vibes. She does look very thin. :( I hope she manages to take some food - I expect you have tried everything! Has she been on medications that haven't worked? Poor, poor girlie.

Thanks guys. I'm remaining positive for now because she has such spirit and seems to be a real fighter, but it breaks my heart when she tries to eat and ends up hunched up grinding her teeth.

Dear,Dear girl. She looks so sad and poorly.
Make her better.
Sending vibes.Keep me in the loop.xxxxx

It's good that she has a fighting spirit. Hope you can get her seen quickly and on the path to recovery. Is she able to drink OK?

No, I don't have any medical equipment for that, and don't really want to upset her either. Her incisors look fine, but can't see anything else.

Oh right, hopefully it's nothing too serious, I really hope your vet can help her, she is a beautiful girl, well done for taking her in

oh the poor girl..well done for taking her
lets hope with her teeth checked.. and I'm guessing sorted..maybe tear ducts flushed and some antibiotics..she can at least be more comfortable and enjoy some time in your care xx
