  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My second bunny has Myxi i think

Young Bun
As you probably remember my first bunny Fluffy was put to sleep on monday as he had myxi. Well I think my second bunny Ginger has it too I think. His eyes tonight are slightly puffy, like how I remember Fluffy's eyes were at the start and me just thinking he looked sleepy. I think his bits are swollen too but then im not convinced as im not really sure what they look like anyway.

:(

I agree with Sky-O he needs to see a vet tonight if you think this is Myxi again.

I'm so sorry  Good luck and my thoughts are with you x

He only had the jab monday. Im still not 100% sure it is it so will see how he is in morning and then take him to vets tomorrow. Gosh this is hell.

I'd suggest maybe erring on the side of caution and at the very least getting him some pain meds because if it is he is likely to be hurting where he is swollen.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me advice on my bunnies, Fluffy and Ginger.

I am sad to say I have lost both bunnies to Myxi.

RIP Fluffy and Ginger you will be sadly missed.

xx
