  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Teeth problems again??

Pandora7

Warren Scout
Pandora had her front teeth removed in July and everything since then seemed fine.

She has now started to chew the bars on the run. When I picked her up the other day I have noticed one of her bottom teeth seems to be growing back, it looks as if her uppers are still gone as all I can see is gum.
I have to say I was shocked as the vet said if this was going to happen I would notice within 3 weeks

Is it more than likly the vet will say to remove them again?
Fingers crossed if so she can do this when I have Pandora neutered asap.

hi, didnt see your other threads  we had a bun who had no front teeth and did very well without them..why did she have them removed ? did they grow crooked? i think the vet would probably just remove it again...

She had them removed due to her jaw not lining up correctly.

Looks like another costly vet trip as the insrance will not cover her teeth due to her jaw :(

With nothing for it to grind against and because no doubt her jaw is still malaligned it will need to be removed again I suspect. Sometimes this can happen if the stem cells are not destroyed properly at the base of the socket during extraction.

Lots of vibes for your bunny and her next dental, I hope it goes ok x
