Animals, like people, can show traits that their parents don't. Some genes are recessive so the parents can carry them without showing, then it comes out in the offspring. Like how two brown haired parents can have a blonde child.
I know a bunny who has one lop ear and one that sticks out almost at right-angle! She's really cute. Apparently her parents were both lop-eared, but one of the grandparents wasn't.
