Its been confirmed that both buns have syphilis We think it was passed to Dolly through her mother.
Its being treated with 3 injections of penicillin over the course of 3 weeks, i was wondering if anyone else's buns have had syphilis and what side effects the antibiotics caused. I have heard that they can loose a lot of weight. Should i give them a few extra pellets? Im also thinking of buying some treat hay like excel herbage to encourage them to keep eating it as i really dont want the antibiotics causing diarrhoea.
Any ideas that will help keep the weight on?
Ive been told there is no point seperating them from eachother, however would it be possible for one to be inefection free before the other, and then be reinfected?
And finally, I got a receipt for £64 off the vet, but i only payed £32, im guessing they only charged me for one rabbit by mistake. Does £64 sound right for 2 injections of penicillin!?
I have to pay for another 4 more.
Would just like some help/advice and to hear other peoples experiences.
