I'm peed off right now. Just seen on facebook an old school friend of mine has bought a guiney pig to go in with her bunny, she said "I've just put them in together and they seem fine so far!" Ok, not great, but, like many, she doesn't know better and I was about to inform her this when, low and behold, in the comments below, my cousin, who I have tried to educate on the care of rabbits since she got one three years ago, has also gone and got a guiney from PAH to go with her bunny! :censored::censored::censored:

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you should say something. think of the animals. just say something about they have different needs and maybe just socialise them together.... it will bother you more if you let it go on. AND teach your cousin.

I have, I've posted this reply:

"Oooh you shouldn't put rabs with guineas, the bunny can kill the guinea with its back legs, plus there's no food available that is good for both. If PAH sold you one knowing you had a rabbit they've been v naughty!"

It is right that PAH should know better isn't it? I didn't want to go OTT, it won't make the blindest bit of difference anyway buy my major concern is that my cousin's bunny has alreadly killed a hamster and is known to be quite agressive (not neutered of course even though I offered to get him done as a wedding present   ) It came out later that PAH said he was a 'rare colour' and they were thinking about breeding him!!! :censored::censored::censored: He's not a rare colour at all.

PAH are naughty!! They should have said something but if they are thinking of breeding rabbits (due to your comment about his rare colouring) it doesn't sound like they are very responsible at all. Maybe you could copy and paste a link to some info online about it... that way you don't sound like you are contridicting PAH if they have given bad advice and it allows you to be easy breezey about it. (just showing you this.... hope it helps... etcetcetc).

Yeah I would do except it doesn't seem to have made a blind bit of difference, plus the net is so rubbish that half the online sites say it's ok to keep them together

Does anyone have a link to a really reputable site that states why they shouldn't be kept together?

hmmm, don't know what branch that PAH was, but I was always under the impression its against company policy to sell rabbits with guineas and vice versa. Well, that's how it works at the PAH I work at...

It was the Pontefract branch, but it's come to light since that she didn't even get asked about where it would be housed  Doesn't surprise me as it's a very new branch and the staff are pretty poor.
