Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Grinding teeth while pooping

Mikasu

New Kit
I just noticed my bunny tends to grind his teeth while pooping, and his eyes are also half closed; looks like he's sleepy or something. Other than that, he seems quite energetic and normal, I was wondering if anyone else experiences this with their bunny? Should I bring him to the vet? Thanks!

If I go up close to my bunny, I can hear it quite well. It's not constant though, he grinds for a few seconds, stops, then repeats.

Are his poos normal in size, texture and quantity ?

Is his urine looking 'creamy'

The only way to ascertain if there is a problem or not is to have him examined.
There are different types of 'tooth grinding' and they indicate different things. Without actually hearing them its impossible for us to give you a definitive answer.

If you remain concerned I would take him to your Vet for a check up :)

I would be concerned- loud grinding and half closed eyes might suggest he is in pain and needs to see a vet.

Does his tummy look bloated at all?
Is he a newly acquired or baby bunny? xx
