Bio Lapis is prescribed by vets to aid in restarting a rabbits digestion after Statis. Please could someone advise me if its worth buying some in case this was to happen to him again? And also some vitamin drops to add to water to help prevent this from happening again? As well as of course watching what I'm feeding him.

I could be wrong but I think Bio Lapis is simply a pro-biotic, similar to Avipro or Pro-C. You can get Pro-C in Pets at Home for about £4.99. It may also be worth investing in a bottle of Infacol. At the first hint of a gassy tummy, I give 1ml of Infacol (and some Metacam but this is a Prescription Only medication). Not 100% sure if Bio-Lapis is simply a pro-biotic but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to have some in stock. Places like Vet UK sell it online.

i have just updated half our critical box.......and next is the two things you MUST have in your box.
bio lapis......add it to water or food..yes probiotic...BUT add 50ml to ONE sachet and you have a syringeable isotonic solution. An isotonic solution is like the sports drinks if you like..it rehyrdates ...buns who have stasis or excess cecals from dental probs or pain...need their salts imblalances sorting.
The other must have is a probiotic paste...that is also full of fibre ..much needed fibre for buns with stasis. Its called FIBREPLEX.
if you have frenchie then its one tube a day for three days..and its pricey but hey bunnys health has no cost when theyre so ill. Its cheaper with smaller buns:wave:

Thanks Purplebumble. Please can you send me a link to your post on the critical box because i'd like to start stocking up in case he gets ill again. He's not eating much hay i know he should be, eats some straw is that okay? Or should i take it out until hes fully recovered?

Yes definitely worth having supplies in. My bunnies don't like the taste of biolapis they prefer Avipro or Lacto B. I made a mistake today and thought I had lots of fibreplex in I really needed it for Honey this morning
