Is 4 too old to spay ....

Thought I'd ask the experts :wave:
I've read conflicting things:?
Bunny is in rude health and after a tricky start has now settled very well and has even started to respond like running over for strokes/treats when she sees you if she's out freeranging and getting all excited( I assume) when you come to let her out of the hutch in the morning (bounces up and down ,makes snuffling noises ) and will go in if you say 'hutch'.
She rarely growls now unless she thinks it's not bedtime :lol: or you put her bowl/hay where she doesn't want it !
Opinions? Apart from the obvious benefits(plus side) I'm concerned about the GA given her age .

I had mine done at this age, she was fine

She can live up to 15 yrs old, so shes still got years left!!
Have her speyed,it lowers the risks of illness and you could also get her a friend!!!

I found a failry local vet that has in their blurb "specialists in rabbit and guinea pig care".
I'll give them a ring, see what they say.

penny was almost 5 when i had her spayed.

My Cloud was 7+ Apparently she stopped breathing during surgery and had to be resuscitated but the vet said this was because of a reaction to the anhestetic (excuse my spelling!) rather than because of her age. :wave:

Oldest female we have had spayed was 7+ too - routinely do them couple of years under this age, as long as they are fit and well, as we have caught cancer out a fair few times now.
