Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Spot on

Hey everyone

Just need some advice regarding spot on. I was given spot on by my vet last month as i noticed she was scratching her ears a bit more. Bella had her first dose and all was fine and the ear scratching has calmed down. However now she is due another but Archie is with her and i'm really worried when he grooms her he will consume some of the substance. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? As they both groom each other a lot and i don't want Archie to become ill.

Many thanks in advance!

You'll need to separate them until the spot on has dried.

Thanks Jane, i thought i might have to although i really don't want to separate them as they are very newly bonded. I think i might take her back to the vet and get her ears checked again. Are there any sort of drops they could give me instead?
She doesn't seem to be bothered by her ears any more but i don't want it to come back.
Thank again:)

Ivermectin can be given by subcutaneous injection :)
