Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Help! Rabbits stopped eating nuggets! worried

Alpha Buck
Last Thursday I put my rabbits into a boarding place for the weekend, I collected them on the Sunday. That Same day I had to open a new bag of SS nuggets.
I have noticed neither of them seem to be eating them. I check the sell by date on the bag...........its got ages to go. They dont normally refuse new nuggets. There still the same kind.
I've also just noticed the fur under Leons chin is hanging down as if its a little dewlap, I've never noticed this before............is this because he's losing weight?
Sammy looks fine, Leon does look a little scronier but he is shedding a lot and tends to look that way.
I have another sealed bag of nuggets, should I open them and try them?

They are still eating there veg and hay, poops are a little smaller though!

Try a different bag, and if they are still not eating them then I think a check up at the vets is what I would do..

I was watching Leon having a snack and he ate two nuggets, yippee! definitley not eating as much though.
Do you think there upset coz I sent the away  I know they were definitley taken good care of, I saw where they were staying and they got to go out in runs too, so they werent shut away.
The woman did have a pet cat wondering about though:shock: dont think the cat was interested but they woulndt be used to that.
