  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Jab time line

Regarding the time line for Jabs- mainly myxo, how do you guys work it out, do you do for example:
29th June- 29th Dec
or
29th June then count the mouth by the weeks so then it would become 14th Dec?

i dont have any experience with this, so i probably shouldnt post, but i think i'd go by weeks.

That way, it'll be sooner (which yes, may affect your pocket!) but i'd rather overlap it i think to ensure my bunster was properly covered :)

My 2 cents worth anyway, sorry if it was pointless posting!

Thankyou for posting!
Yep, that is what I have been doing so there has been an overlap, I just wasnt sure if this is the right thing to do or not?! :?

i can't see that making sure they are covered can be a bad thing, i mean if its coming towards the end of the vaccination period then it must be a good thing...right?:?

I do it on straight months; the data sheet says once a year or every six months, so I take it that 6 months = half a year so 29 June would translate to 29 December for me.

My vets send me a reminder so not sure really :lol: I usually get it about three to four weeks before its due
