the reason im asking is because im desperate to find a rabbit savey vet i think i may have found one but its about a 20 minute drive there and back is this to far for a bunny to travel?

Now about two mins :D But it used to be about 15mins

If you can find a vet thats as good closer to home then its not worth it but a good rabbit vet is worth the journey in my opinion

I travel between 45 mins to an hour. The buns are in their box, secure and I talk to them.My vet is just ace.

20 minutes definitely isn't a long way to travel to rabbit savvy vet - I wish mine was that close.

We travel about 40 minutes/20 miles to ours.

I'm about a 15-20 minute drive away. i don't think its that far to go and definitely worth it for a good vet!

Hiya,

Mine is about 20 - 30 minutes away too!
I use them cause they are the only ones I could find around my area that specialise in bunnies. :)

I do have closer vets in case of an emergency! :) you never know. :?

I travel from Milton Keynes to Northampton to my excellent bunny vet - about a 25-30 minute journey on a good day. In my opinion, it's worth it to see the right vet.

Mine's about a 15 min drive through town. I was considering a very much closer one but the one I go to was so good with Bingley's eye op and his aftercare I decided to stay with them.

Mine is a five minute drive and I'm confident in them, though I usually request a specific vet and wouldn't be happy if I couldn't see one of the girls who specialises in small pets (rabbits, hamsters, rats, etc).
It definitely reassures me that they are so close in case of an emergency - I don't drive so somewhere in walking or bus-ing distance was essential for me.

thank you for all your replies, im gonna give them a call tomorrow and ask them a few questions, i've had a look on there website and thay have a vet whos interests are rabbits and endocrinology? and one whos intresets are exotics and small mammels. i was also talking to a friend today whos son is in his 3rd year of vet training and has worked in there and he said thay see a lot of rabbits etc.. in there. When he worked in the vet i use now it was all cats and dogs! when i asked my current vet if thay do many spayes he said 'only a trickle'.

Mines the same vets as Mackers and although I get there from a different direction it's still worth the 30 min drive.

I have a vets that's 5 mins away for the dog and would use them if it was a real emergency but prefer to go to Northampton

Where is Essex are you

I travel about 25 mins to my vet, it is worth it because he is great! I use William Lewis at Wylie's in Upminster
