Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How long after spay can my bunny go in her run?

Young Bun
My bunny had her spay on Tues. She has spent a few days inside and yesterday she went back in her outdoor hutch. I was just wondering how long I should leave it before she goes out in her run?

So long as her stitches etc can be kept dry and clean, she should be able to go in now. I would not let her go up/down any ramps just yet though.

Yes I let both of my girlies out for a run around about 5 days after they were spayed.

They were both going mad by that time, didn't like being confined!

Just make sure you dont give her too much space too soon. I let Charlee back into her 6ft x 2.5ft cage a day or two after her spay - and even without the additional space she usually gets (free range of my room), she managed to rip open the base of her wound doing mad zoomies around the pen. This was probably 5 days after her spay.

My grace went out for the first time after 5 days, we had to keep her on flat ground and were told not to let her run around too much or to climb. xxxx
