Roxy had her spay yesterday, all went well and she was home by 6pm. She gobbled up some pellets during the night but didn't drink anything so I syringed her as much water as she would allow me to. She was very quiet over night and just stayed in a corner...I woke up this morning to find that she had a really messy bum I cleaned her up and left her with a small amount of veg, fruit and pellets, which che did scoff most of but still no drinking?! My OH held her bottle up to her though and she then started to drink from it (lazy?!), no more messy bum though she isn't cleaning herself properly when she wee's? I think that is beacuse its diffcult to get around to her genitals area though...she has amassive bandage around her bless.

Her poops are coming out tiny, half the size they normally are and she is weeing ok,.

The drinking water issue I had with her turned out to be because I had the water bottle up too high for her ...I thought that as she is Pebs size then she'd drink from the bottle at the height he has it...turns out she is more comfortable with the height Harley had it at .

Does it sound like she is ok? I'll continue to syringe water to her...dunno how to encourage her to drink though

I would offer her water in a bowl if I were you, both mine drink from bowls and a lot of buns do find it easier so that may encourage her.
Has she had pain relief?

I have tried using a bowl and coop cup with her but she just tips them up :( no but I am contacting the vets tomorrow for advise...just wanted to know if this is normal after a spay

I am afraid I dont know much about after care when it comes to a doe.
Hopefully it is just a matter of time and she will be back to normal.

My bunny went in for her spay on Tues. She also is not keen on drinking. Ive found that soaking some greens in water and then giving them to her increases her water intake a little. I have also soaked some pellets and treats in a bowl of water over night and offered her that this morning (with me holding the bowl or putting some on my finger or her paw) She has licked it of her paw as she wants to keep clean. She gobbled it all up. The vets also told me that I could try baby food or a tiny bit of fruit juice but i havent tried that.

Im also giving her water in a syringe as she wont touch her bottle yet and like your bunny keeps tipping a water bowl over. Her poos are still varied with some being half the size but some getting back to normal.

What your are describing sounds very similar to my bun. Im off to the vets now for her to have a check up so I will let you know what they say.

Offer her water in a bowl if she hasn't had pain relief it may be uncomfy for her to use a drinking bottle.

as for the small poo's yes it's normal for them to be smaller after a GA as it slows down gut motility as long as she's eating well she should get back to normal in a day or so.
