  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

my baby bunny is not using her front let leg

Hi i have a 7 week old bunny i got her last night nad all seemed ok. i put her out in the run this afternoon and noticed that she is not putting weight on her front left leg any idea what the problem could be?
i am taking her to vets in the morning.

Well i'd guess it's cos she's in pain but what the cause is is difficult to say, have you checked to see if there's anything sharp stuck in it or if a claw has got torn etc It could be some sort of injury if she's got it trapped or fallen on it, only the vet is going to be able to diagnose it properly so good plan taking her in, in the morning

Have you taken any babybun photos yet? and have you decided on a name?

Poor baby. That's too early to be taken away from mum and rehomed.

Yes, she definitely needs the vets so that's good you have got an appointment. I would be thinking she might need seeing sooner, especially for pain medication.

I would say you need to minimise her movements until then.

Is she eating and drinking, pooing and weeing?

My daughter has called her cuddles and yes she is eating ,dinking toileting ok.
Checked her paw and there is no sign of external injuries.
