does your rabbit know you?

Young Bun
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone's rabbit acts differently around different people? Like if my boyfriend puts his hand in the cage (to change litter tray etc), CottonTail will charge at him, teeth bared and make noises at him. Whereas when I put my hand in, she just sniffs it and pushes she head undernearth to make me stroke her! Also, she will (usually!) come over to me when I call her but as soon as he walks in the room she will often run away to the furthest corner!
Is it just us?

Biscuit does something similar, i've been the only one to ever clean him / feed him, but if i ask my OH to do it one day, Biscuit does lunge at her hand, never bites, or show his teeth, but will just charge at her.

I guess creatures of habbit :)

Hey btw

My pair definatly know me... :)
They hate others!
They are free rangeing in the garden currently. and the back door is open and Pebbl ejsut came in to see me!

Mine know my voice. Definitely. Smudge freaks at the sound of someone new.

Mischa tried to jump into my arms from the floor yesterday. He knows me. For sure.

Fudge knows me but why wouldnt she since we have know each other since she was 1 hour old (mummy bunny wasnt that good a mummy :( so i adopted the babies :))

She only kisses the people she likes (Me, my sis and my Ex) She knows my voice and understands when i say "You want breakfast/dinner" she runs to the food tub

She also cuddles me and stares at me when im upset and crying
Shes my baby and i loves her loads :love::love::love::love:

Alvin hates me slightly less than anyone else from the human race... pretty huge compliment to get buzzed by him :love::love:

Definitely! Velet knows me and my OH and is very suspicious of anyone else who comes to the house. Try getting your boyfriend to hand feed her with yummy stuff and she'll come round to him.

My last bun, Vinnie, hated men. She was teriffied of them. She wasn't too fond of women either, but a man walked into the room she'd growl, thump and bolt. Only men she ever accepted were the OH and (strangely) my brother who she only met twice.

Lucky doesnt like men in general (even my 6 year old nephew). He stamps and hides from my hubby. He's wary of my youngest daughter and will tolerate her but not for long. My teenage daughter he looooooves. and he often tries to groom me too and gets all excited when i'm about.

deffinatly more so Crystal though (r.i.p) she used to run to me everytime i went outside when she was free range with misty but didnt with anyone else she also used to try and hide under my armpit, up my coat in my arms you name it when she went to the vets lol but didnt do it to my mum or sister lol I was teh only one she licked aswell

Mistys not a human kind of boy he preferes those of a same species so we all kind of get the same off him but he is friendly  and always lets me know what he wants

Mine love me and my mum best. They're very shy around strangers, and hide from my sister (she's a vet!).

My lot love anyone if they have food :lol::lol:

Saying that Apollo will always come running to me food or no food so he definately reconises me, its really lovely as he was so scared when I first got him he verged on aggressive.

Gypsy seems to be a mans bunny. This week is the first time since she came to live with us she hasn't lunged or bitten me. Hasn't even growled at me this week! :D

Lol at some of your stories! They are so much more intelligent than most people think!
I guess its not surprising really seeing as I'm the one who cleans them out daily, feeds them, gives them treats/cuddles etc! The degus used to hate his voice and for months they would squeal whenever he spoke which I found fairly amusing as it shut him up for a while!
Funnily enough, 3/5 animals we have are because of him! I was happy enough with the first two and it was him who convinced me about the rest. Now however, I consider them all to be MY animals! And I'm quite happy with the way it is because it means that I get ALL the cuddles from them! Especially CottonTail who licks me to death - she will do it for so long I sometimes have to stop her cause I'm getting bored!

Yep all four of mine definetely love mummy best, they'll speak to daddy now and then, if they are scared they run straight to me.

Yes, mine do. Some of their behaviour changes are subtles but they all act slightly different with me.

Sky in the most noticeable. He pines when I'm not around and is only happy when I am. He doesn't want to be touched by anyone else. If someone else feeds him he won't eat it straight away. When I was in hospital he got very depressed and then ended up needing to see the vet the day after I came out because he wasn't eating hay and needed his first ever dental.

Mine remembers most people who visit the house. There are only 2 people he dislikes (they don't like animals) & he just clears off. He loves those who play with him & seems to remember them by smell as well as sound. His big favourites are escorted to the front door when they leave, & he'll thunder downstairs to meet them when they arrive.

Mine know me and take more or a liking to some people. They let some visitors fuss them but ignore others - they are particularly fond of Chloe from Fat Fluffs and will only run up to my partner when he gives them a treat late evening.

The foster bunnies also know who I am. I had a gorgeous pair or lops who used to thump when my partner walked up the garden or the neighbour walked up her garden but were fine for me - luckily I have understanding neighbours who thought it was funny

My rabbits love everyone  Although only I can hold Harley properly, he tenses up and is extremely strong for his size

Our bun when taken to his grandparents house gets really excited when he hears their voices because he knows that days upon days of charging around a fully carpeted house are guaranteed! However, if the grandparents come to our house he freaks out because he thinks he's going in his carry box - bless!!
