Young Bun
hi i have a 13 week old french lop and wondered when he will be fully grown, i know they get big but just wanted a rough idea when he will stop growing,he is a big softie.

He'll stop growing at around 15/16 months. He'll get to be at least 4.5kg (possibly upwards of 6.5kg!!)

Frenchies are wonderful!! ...we're missing PICTURES!! ;)

hi im not sure how to post photos,he is blue and i call him harvey he is big now at 13 weeks i didnt realise how soft and good natured they are,my mini lops dont like being fused and harvey just loves to be fussed.

My frenchie is 4.5kg cant seem to get any more weight on him at the moment he loves running round with my others so is abit of a lean machine!

I have got 4 18wk old frenchies in and they weigh 2.5kg. Cocoa's George weighs 5.2kg
This is Cinders & George doing what they do best

He would love a companion! Rabbits are such sociable creatures and as in the photos that have been posted they love to snuggle up and groom each other. As long as the bonding is carried out on neutral territory and you disinfect Harveys space to try to cover up his scent before you put them back he will thank you for her. If you get a mate from a rescue for him then most rescues will bond or help you bond them anyway. Obviously he'll have to be neutered first!! Good luck.

He is absolutely gorgeous! I've only ever had French Lops, and they are cuddly buns - he looks just like my 'Spike' did :)

I've got Loxxy now, 15 wks old, she'd love a pal too but we've only ever had one at a time - I might see what mentioning a 'mate' for her does to husband !!!

He is beautiful!:love:My B is almost 4 years old & weighs only 4.5kg.Shes always been small.I have only ever had single house buns but last year a family bereavement meant spending less time with B so rather than rehoming her we decided to get our first 2nd bun.We sent her away for a week to be bonded & she came home with a 10month old boy who thinks the world of her.Now 16months later their bond is growing more & more & its so nice to see them happy together.French lops usually stop growing at 18months.:D

aww cute!!

i adopted bertie after borrowing him to save a grieving widow bun.,
he was 18 months old when i got him and i dont think he grew any bigger.

but willow..........she was a law unto herself...she died suddenly aged 22 months and was still getting taller and longer:shock: we think it was her heart now after watching our cat die the same way three weeks ago.

i love the huge lazy lout then mad crazy bun that frenchies are. i still love regular buns but berties made me fall for the breed:lol:

thank you,he is stunning and such a cheeky boy,iv never had a frenchie before but now im glad i chose him.

Are there any newer pictures? I bet he's a handsome hulk now!!

Frenchie's are the only bun for me. It's so painful that they're so delicate though :(

Frenchies look adorable! Just out of interest, are they more susceptible to things than other buns?

They have weak backs and as with all giants can have enlarged hearts. I think they're more susceptible to heart attacks. I've known of quite a few with abscesses. (Ruby's brother just died of one. :() They're just such delicate animals. My Teddy died of a heart attack (we think).

Sayinng that. They might have shorter lives than some buns, but they are the most rewarding of buns. I've never had a connection with any pet like I have with all my Frenchies......let alone Teddy who was my soul bun.:love::love: They're so rewarding, just need to be socialised, as they can give a mean bite if aggressive.
